This helps us to identify the route of development of cities from the history to the present, with the city of Delhi in focus. We find how our cities were developed in sync with the natural resources available and it becomes critical to relate development with this synergy and preserving the architectural and natural heritage. We call it ‘ Integral Heritage.’
This explains our predicament of water scarcity in the city of Delhi and offers solution by identifying and valuation of our major local natural resource i.e Yamuna Flood Plains, which is untapped and destroyed by constructions till now. It offers a ‘Preserve and Use’ scheme for tapping this invaluable resource.
This talks about our ‘ Scheme of Living’ in the modern age; starting from how life evolved, maintaining a balance with nature with its zero waste mechanism to the present profit driven economy, fuelling consumption, causing huge natural resource loss, pollution and unmanageable waste accumulation. Modern Science has lost its relation with natural wisdom. We need to get back to it and here is an effort in the presentation to find one such solution by applying this natural wisdom to our management of local natural resources in Delhi.
